Interest in Using Mobile Devices
Mercator Advisory Group's CustomerMonitor Survey Series
Mobile payments are just one example of mobile financial services, of course. Indeed, mobile users, especially smartphone owners, are often making use of their devices today for banking and bill payment, primarily via the mobile web. As illustrated above, the highest interest level in using financial applications on mobile devices is that of monitoring account balances, followed by bill payment reminders, and electronic bill presentment. These are relatively familiar financial tasks that leverage consumers’ online experiences. And of course, smartphone owners show the highest interest across the range of functions.
This data is extracted from Merctor Advisory Group's CustomerMonitor Survey Series Consumers and Mobile Payments: Familiarity Paving the Way. The report is based on a national sample of 1,012 online consumer survey responses completed between May 19-24, 2011.
