Tabbedout, the app that enables bar and restaurant patrons to settle tabs remotely, now allows users to pay with Google Wallet. In order to encourage users to take advantage of this partnership, Tabbedout is offering a one-time $7 credit that can be applied when users settle their Tabbedout tab with their Google Wallet account.

From Mobile Commerce Daily:

“The Google Wallet integration gives users an additional way to pay their bar and restaurant tab in the Tabbedout app for Android,” said Nick Myers, marketing manager at TabbedOut, Austin. “It’s a simple, seamless process to link your Google Wallet account and pay your tab,” he said.

For Tabbedout, the integration provides an increased level of convenience. Consumers can use the app without first having to enter all their necessary payment and verification information, a task that can be frustrating when a smartphone’s small screen and keyboard.

For Google, this partnership is one more example of recent moves to expand beyond its Wallet’s original NFC payments solution. At the recent Google I/O conference, Google also announced the expansion of Google Wallet to include payment via email, in-app payments, and loyalty card storage and management. Google is still working to enable NFC payments at the POS, but the company is also seeking out additional opportunities for uses of Google Wallet until NFC payments become more common place.
