Canadian Bank Creates Digital Banking ‘Factory’

Canada’s Scotiabank has announced the opening a ‘digital factory’ in Toronto that will see 350 staff focus on designing and delivering innovative digital banking services and products. The new team will consist of existing and new employees and consist of user interface and user experience designers; scrum masters, agile coaches and solution architects; and data scientists and other advanced analytics specialists.

Commenting on the announcement, Michael Zerbs, WVP, co-head, information technology, Scotiabank said,

“Scotiabank’s Digital Factory will create an environment where our teams can be flexible, adventurous, empowered and challenged to design and deliver a game-changing customer experience.”

With digital banking services becoming increasingly competitive, continued innovation is becoming paramount as banks look to maintain positive banking relationships with their customers and keep up with the latest technological developments in order to deliver desired banking and payment products.
