MasterCard recently teamed with Aramex, a logistics and transportation service provider, to allow MasterCard holders to easily buy online from overseas markets such as the U.S., UK and Europe.

MasterCard has collaborated with Aramex to provide additional, exclusive benefits to its cardholders using the Shop and Ship service. Shop and Ship is the e-tail delivery service by Aramex that offers Middle East consumers the convenience of online shopping from the US, UK and Europe at competitive rates.

Shoppers can access the Aramex service by logging on to ShopandShip.com and signing up for a lifetime membership account. Once the consumer places an order, Aramex receives the ordered goods at its facilities from the e-tailer, and then ships and delivers them right to the shopper.

E-commerce has delivered great value to consumers, as they can shop from a large number of retailers for a wider variety of options at lower prices. But the most successful stories so far are limited to in-country purchases as cross-border transactions are subject to many more factors such as custom, currencies, fraud, in addition to the high costs of international shipping. The ability to buy and ship internationally on behalf of consumers at a low price has become a hot business that sees a lot of consumer demands. And payments companies such as MasterCard are certainly taking note.
