Mercator and CPPO Working to Size Up the Canadian Prepaid Market

 The Canadian Prepaid Providers Organization (CPPO), a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the open loop prepaid payments industry in Canada, and Mercator Advisory Group have teamed up to create the first comprehensive market sizing survey of the open-loop prepaid industry in Canada. This survey will provide a valid, third party analysis of this growing and dynamic industry.

For the initial survey, we will ask about loads in 2014 and 2015 to show the growth in the size of the market. To make completing the survey easier, I have attached a copy to this e-mail. Concerns about competitive positioning have been raised due to the size of the Canadian market. Mercator will evaluate the data to ensure that nothing reported can be used to reverse engineer the data of the individual participants. CPPO has requested that we adhere to the following guidelines: all data reported must include information from a minimum of three firms and that no firm will have more than a 35% share of the sector being reported.
