Google Wallet can now be used to purchase rail and bus transit tickets at select locations throughout the state of New Jersey. NJ Transit is the first public transportation agency to enable the use of Google Wallet. This is one of many ways that Google is intending to expand the capabilities of their Google Wallet product.

Since announcing Google Wallet in late May, Google has indicated plans to expand the service to boarding passes, event tickets, ID cards and keys…Google adds that Chevron, D’Agostino, Faber News Now, Gristedes Supermarkets and Pinkberry are presently working to equip their stores to accept Google Wallet transactions.

Google has also introduced support for SingleTap, which provides customers with instantly redeemable coupons and enables them to earn rewards points via their phone at certain retailers.
