Munich, 21-06-2016 – Payworks, the leading Point of Sale payment solution company, today announced an expansion of its POS payment integration with Stripe, a global leader in online payments. Following the successful launch in the UK and Ireland, where Stripe users can accept card payments via Chip and PIN card readers at the Point of Sale, Payworks will now offer the same possibility to Stripe businesses in the US, France and Finland.
With this expansion, developers using Stripe in the US, France and Finland can now use the Payworks open API payment gateway technology to build and launch integrated Point of Sale solutions. They can do that by integrating the Payworks EMV SDK into their POS applications, regardless of the operating system they use, and enable their merchants to use card readers in their physical stores. This integration will enable merchants to instantly start accepting EMV chip and contactless cards, as well as mobile wallet payments like Apple Pay, Android Pay and Samsung Pay.
Stripe processes billions of dollars a year for hundreds of thousands of companies. “Since the beginning, our focus has been on providing Stripe users with the tools and the infrastructure they need to start and manage an internet business,” said Stripe’s Head of Business Development, Cristina Cordova. “By extending our integration with Payworks, we can now offer further flexibility to our users in the US, France and Finland who wish to accept credit and debit cards both online and in person.”
Payworks’ payment gateway technology is especially useful for US merchants that are struggling to find a better, more cost-efficient way to adopt EMV card acceptance technology, ever since the United States started migrating to EMV chip card technology last year.
