U.S. Bank Brings EMV To U.S. Corporate Cards

U.S. Bank continues its initiatives in introducing EMV or chip-and-PIN cards to Americans who may need them for travel abroad. Having released a consumer card version last year, the company this week announced that its American corporate card program now will offer the same capabilities.

According to the bank:

The U.S. Bank Global EMV Card contains the magnetic stripe technology used in the United States, but also includes the EMV Chip technology widely used in Canada, Europe and other geographies. Combining both technologies on one card ensures that purchases can be conveniently processed around the world.

U.S. Bank joins several other American banks including Wells Fargo and J.P. Morgan Chase in offering the product that increases a traveler’s chances of completing transactions abroad. The cards are available in either Visa or MasterCard networks, for use worldwide.
