Visa has procured the domain name www.v.me to serve as the website for their “V.me by Visa” digital wallet. This website will serve as the entry way for consumers, merchants and developers who are interested in using Visa’s digital wallet.
“Using the word ‘me’ as part of our new digital wallet brand emphasizes the personalized nature of Visa’s digital wallet,” said Heather Clifton, head of global marketing initiatives and innovation at Visa. “The dot-ME domain name ensures that the online home for the wallet is consistent with the brand we’ve introduced and makes it easy for consumers to access.”
V.me will allow consumers to make online purchases by providing merchants with an ID and a password, rather than their credit or debit card information, which Visa touts as both faster and more secure. Consumers will be able to use their Visa cards, as well as cards from MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.
The V.me wallet is expected to launch in the next year.
