RANCHO CUCAMONGA, California – As part of its CO-OP Purpose social responsibility initiatives, CO-OP Financial Services is adding a link to the menu options of the Sprig by CO-OP mobile app enabling member donations to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

“This is an easy way for our clients to activate a convenient charitable contribution opportunity for their members,” said Todd Clark, President/CEO, CO-OP. “Consumers today want to do business with organizations that are committed to social good, and can offer superior products.”

Sprig by CO-OP is a multi-institution turnkey mobile app giving members the ability to aggregate their accounts in a single portal. With Sprig by CO-OP, credit union members can use their mobile device to access their accounts, make remote deposits, transfer between accounts and make person-to-person payments.

The new, easy-to-use charitable option link is readily available in the app. The user simply clicks the Credit Unions for Kids name and logo, and is taken immediately to the CU4Kids website donations page. The updated Sprig by CO-OP will be available to credit unions on May 1, which they can then make available for free download to their members.

CO-OP is also currently evaluating additional application opportunities for this functionality.

“Credit Unions for Kids is dedicated to helping sick and injured children receive the care they need regardless of their financial situations,” said Joe Dearborn, Senior Director, CMN Hospitals. “CO-OP Financial Services has been a steadfast partner for 20 years, and they have now come up with another wonderful way for credit union members to participate in this great cause.”

CO-OP Purpose is a corporate social responsibility program for credit unions that provides impactful community initiatives to advance their mission of empowering peoples’ financial well-being. The program includes financial literacy education outreach, philanthropic and charitable giving, encourages new ways of collaborating with colleagues and consumers, and provides access to research on the business case for social responsibility.

Under the CO-OP Purpose umbrella, CO-OP also manages on behalf of its client credit unions the CO-OP Miracle Match program. This program grants $1 million annually in matches to Credit Unions for Kids fundraisers. CO-OP is now accepting applications for the 2018 CO-OP Miracle Match program, which can be obtained here.
