Tango Card, a provider of mobile and group gift card applications, and Earndit, a company that offers rewards for exercise programs, have joined forces to offer prepaid rewards in combination with fitness challenges. Exercisers or companies can create a program where people can earn rewards by keeping track of their workouts.

Creating a challenge on Earndit couldn’t be easier. You simply choose how much the per-person entry fee will be, set the rules of the challenge and then invite others either by inputting their email addresses or sharing a custom link on Twitter or Facebook, Once the challenge ends, the winner is emailed a Tango Card in the amount of the sum of the entry fees (minus Earndit’s 10% service fee).

The application taps into a corporate market that potentially would be a natural fit for this kind of application. While it is not likely to see much use among individuals, companies, gyms, running clubs, and the like, it could be put to good use in the corporate sector. Now, the question is whether the inertia of the obesity epidemic outweighs the incentives to get moving.
