Merchants of all sizes that are serious about succeeding in today’s hyper-competitive market need to be able to quickly and efficiently get offers in consumer hands. Leading merchant processors are responding to this need by enabling loyalty services across digital delivery channels with geo-specific offers but also discounts at the point of sale. Vantiv Monday announced it is now using Visa’s POS Offers Redemption Platform, which enables retailers to create programs across their enterprises including digital marketing, immediate price reductions, and savings feedback.

From Vantiv’s press release:

With Visa Offers, the Visa card consumers already use for convenient purchases, can now deliver personalized deals from top brands right to an enrolled individual’s mobile phone or email. This platform enables clients to identify and send customized, targeted offers to consumers – with their consent – in a way that leverages their purchase location and interests based on purchase behavior.

Real-time redemption is spreading across the market as retailers recalibrate their POS and online check-out to allow consumers to easily respond to relevant offers. Organizations such as Vantiv and First Data, with its OfferWise platform, are in a position to expand these features across a broader segment of the market and support card brand loyalty programs capable of competing against similar strategies entering the market from non-traditional companies like LevelUp without asking consumers to adopt another payment form.
