NEW YORK, Aug. 24, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — SmartMetric, Inc. (OTCQB: SMME) – SmartMetric has successfully completed the production of its new advanced designed electronic circuit board (PCB) that now allows SmartMetric to use the same electronic board to make up to five (5) different kinds of biometric cards.  This is a major breakthrough in the goal for SmartMetric to achieve greater manufacturing efficiencies and allowing for just-in-time manufacturing for a range of different biometric cards covering a number of different industries.

“Our team of engineers in Tel Aviv, Israel have achieved an incredible advance in electronic design allowing us to achieve a quantum leap in our manufacturing process.  Not only do we have a super thin electronics board that sits inside a credit card but a complex board that allows for rapid assembly of components based on market demand for our now extended range of biometric card products.  From banking, cyber security, building security to healthcare SmartMetric is now able to manufacture its cards on demand in response to the various markets demands,” said today SmartMetric President and CEO, Chaya Hendrick.

This critical advancement in mass biometric card production follows on from the recently announced advancement in its rechargeable battery allowing for a 100% increase in the batteries heat tolerance during card lamination.

SmartMetric first started developing a biometric card for the credit card industry based on the Chip Card used in today’s credit and debit cards and using a fingerprint scanner developed by SmartMetric inside the credit card, to scan and validate the card user by their fingerprint.  There are now over seven (7) billion chip cards issued globally.
