In a low key announcement, Kroger is again accepting Visa cards at all its locations. Earlier this year, the nationwide grocer, which operates under different brands, stopped taking Visa card payments at select store locations.

This wasn’t the first time that merchants and card networks have had a tussle over transaction fees, and it won’t be the last time. Usually a mutually acceptable agreement is reached and it’s back to business as usual, which appears to be the case here.

A Business Insider article, excerpted below, discusses more on the topic:

Kroger has reversed a ban on Visa credit cards, and will now accept the cards at all locations, a Kroger spokeswoman told Business Insider on Wednesday.

The spokeswoman did not elaborate on the reason for the reversal.

Kroger stopped accepting Visa credit cards in April at its Smith’s Food & Drug chain, which has more than 130 stores in seven states.

The move followed an earlier ban on Visa credit cards at Foods Co., another Kroger supermarket chain.

The bans stemmed from disagreements over transaction fees.
