Prepaid cards continue to gain momentum in global payments, and Euronet Worldwide is positioning itself to capture more of that growth across Europe. By expanding its prepaid card issuing and processing capabilities throughout the Single Euro Payments Area, the company is broadening access to reloadable payment products for consumers and businesses across the region. As economic uncertainty persists in many European markets, prepaid solutions are increasingly being viewed as flexible financial tools that can help consumers manage spending while supporting the continued shift toward electronic payments.

Euronet announced it expanding it prepaid card issuing, processing and BIN sponsorship products across Europe through its subsidiary, Euronet 360 Finance Ltd By extending its e-money license across SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area), Euronet now can issue cards and process transactions in the larger European Economic Area (EEA).

“Euronet Worldwide’s technological infrastructure, combined with the reach, capability and proven track record of its existing client base, clearly positions Euronet 360 Finance Ltd. and its partners to monetize the projected growth of this sector,” according to Ian Dickinson, the Managing Director of Euronet 360 Finance Ltd.

Euronet’s network will allow cardholders to reload their cards through any affiliated point-of-sale terminal, and ATM as well as any partner bank’s network.

While ongoing economic malaise continues across much of Europe, consumers there may be enticed by the potential budgetary benefits that accompany prepaid cards. By expanding its prepaid offerings across Europe, Euronet stands to benefit greatly from the fast growing prepaid segment.
