Right on the heels of opening its second store Amazon go today has announced that is opened its third Amazon go location. With its first location being opened up in early 2018 at 1800 square feet And its second location being opened up at 1450 square feet, it’s the third location Is the biggest of the mall at 2100 square feet.

The reason to note the importance of the increase in size from their first to their third location is due to the amount of technology that is required for the convenience store to operate. Therefore the larger the square footage the more cameras and AI computing power needed to identify individuals and correctly match the items they have in their cart and charge them accordingly upon leaving the store.

It is also been announced according to TechCrunch that Amazon does not plan to stop at this third location what does have intentions On opening Amazon Go locations in Chicago and San Francisco as well. At first, I have to admit that I have my doubts in the scalability of this new convenience store concept given the amount of infrastructure needed to produce this concept however given the pace of new store openings that like many other things Amazon takes on into there is no slowing them down once I get going.
