Ceridian Canada Ltd., provider of the Powerpay Web online payroll solution, has developed Canada’s first mobile payroll app. This application, currently available on the Blackberry App World for only $6.99 (and soon to be available for iPhone users), gives those in charge of authorizing payroll the ability to execute those responsibilities directly from their smartphone.

“Payroll can’t wait and neither can other aspects of business,” says Shelley Ng, Vice President, Product Management, Ceridian Canada Ltd. “Senior Managers and Payroll Managers, especially in small businesses, often have many competing priorities that can regularly take them off-site. This app lets them review and submit their payroll directly from their smartphone. Whether they are waiting for a plane, on their way to an off-site meeting or even at their cottage, they can easily ensure their payroll is processed correctly and on time. We’ve developed this app to make things as easy as possible for our customers.”

This application is particularly useful for those who are in charge of authorizing and processing payrolls, yet regularly find themselves away from their offices. For example, a small business owner who manages her own payroll accounts while regularly traveling between clients can ensure that her employees are paid on-time, regardless of her personal location on the first and the fifteenth of the month.

An update to this app is expected in the coming months. This update will allow Powerpay Web customers to add and edit employee profiles, as well as enter hour-by-hour timesheet information.
