Brett King, author, futurist, founder of mobile startup bank Moven and host of one of the top FinTech podcasts will open the Innotribe programme at this year’s Sibos in Sydney.

A former advisor to the Obama administration on the future of banking, King’s opening will leap forwards to life in 2030, looking at contextual banking, quantum and what new technologies will take their place in the future of money.

King, a regular commentator on how technology is disrupting business, changing behaviour and influencing society said: “Sibos and Innotribe have been a part of my life for a decade. The friendships and network I made there have formed the foundation of my career as a FinTech entrepreneur and futurist. Innotribe helped me get Moven funded, accelerated my profile as an author and speaker, and gave me a rich network for my radio show. “

Set in the heart of the Discover Zone and FinTech Marketplace, Innotribe will be surrounded by over 40 FinTechs and 30 local startups exhibiting at the world’s premier financial services event, making it the largest FinTech presence ever at Sibos.

Joseph Lubin, a leading voice in the blockchain ecosystem, co-founder of Ethereum and the CEO of ConsenSys will close the four day Innotribe programme during an in-conversation event with SWIFT’s Chief Information Officer, Craig Young.

Ahead of Sibos, Lubin said: “The 2018 Innotribe programme touches on aspects around decentralisation, trust, and tokenisation, ideas that are integral to our core mission at ConsenSys. We believe that decentralised architectures – based on blockchain technology – produce better systems, and we are creating an ecosystem of enterprise-grade solutions for the financial services industry on the Ethereum platform. We’re looking forward to sharing how we help our partners build, test, and deploy public and private blockchains, and reflecting on the multiple use-cases we see with the Innotribe audience in Sydney.”

Kevin Johnson, Head of SWIFT’s Innotribe said: “SWIFT Innotribe at Sibos has been the place to be for FinTechs and financial services companies, to meet, collaborate and discuss exciting new ventures for ten years now, and we’re delighted to see so many of them joining us in Sydney. We are delighted that both Brett and Joseph will be part of this year’s innotribe programme, sharing their unique perspectives on the future of the industry with the Sibos delegates joining us in Sydney.”
