ACCRA & MUNICH, 25-04-18 – Payment technology company, Payworks, announced today that it has partnered with Hubtel, Ghana’s first business-grade, fully integrated, all-platform payment acceptance solution, to enable thousands of merchants to accept payments in the country.

Payworks’ payment gateway technology is powering Hubtel POS to enable merchants across Ghana to quickly and easily accept payments through their Hubtel POS app and EMV credit card reader issued by Hubtel. Through the Payworks Pulse integration, Hubtel solutions help businesses of any size or industry to achieve goals such as communicate in real time, improve customer service, reduce operating costs and generate sales as well as connect better with customers in any environment.

The Hubtel POS is the first fully integrated solution available in Ghana and has been integrated with Payworks’ technology since January. To meet the needs of the local market, Payworks certified with local acquirer, Zenith Bank, enabling merchants to accept the local debit scheme gh-link in addition to Visa and MasterCard schemes.

“Hubtel’s aim is to enhance our merchants’ business by offering a platform where payments, customer engagement and loyalty can be handled through the same application,” says Alex Adjei Bram, CEO of Hubtel. “By partnering with Payworks, we’ve been able to offer a payment solution which has consolidated the retail experience, enabling businesses to interact with customers at their preferred touchpoints”.

Payworks offers an acquirer-agnostic, cloud-based payment infrastructure, which is easily accessible and pre-certified for payment service providers. Card acceptance can be integrated into any Point of Sale system in a matter of minutes ensuring providers can enable their merchants to go-to market quickly. Payworks clients can expect a quick and simple integration, as well as the peace of mind in knowing their solution is using the most up-to-date payment technology.

“Supporting the Hubtel team in providing an integrated solution which meets the needs of their local merchants has been an exciting project and we look forward to our continued work in the future,” says Christian Deger, CEO & CO-Founder at Payworks. “Payworks’ technology has been created to meet the needs of any market and for merchants in any environment. Providing an acquirer-agnostic technology allows us to quickly meet the demands of our clients and enables us to bring advanced payment technology to more Point of Sale solutions around the world”.
