Prepaid distributor InComm announcedit is moving beyond the J-hook by launching a new site that will let incentivescard managers buy prepaid cards that they can use for a variety of purposes.

InComm, a leading provider ofintegrated point-of-sale (POS) technology solutions to retailers, has launchedInComm Incentives, a B2B eCommerce store for purchasing multi-brand physicaland digital gift cards in bulk. Companies who use gift cards for employeerewards, marketing promotions, sales incentives and customer loyalty canleverage InComm Incentives to choose from a broad selection of national brandswith diverse delivery options. Customers can access the eCommerce store at www.incommincentives.com.

The move is part of a larger strategy to create distributionchannels for prepaid cards that go beyond the card malls that customers canfind in convenience, drug, and grocery stores. The trend is an example of howcompanies that were once focused on selling plastic cards in brick and mortarlocations are moving into a digital world.

Mercator Advisory Group’s report, Embracinga Digital Future: Three Case Studies in Prepaid Card Distribution, discusses how InComm and its competitors have been adding digital tools totheir businesses. It also shows how other businesses can follow the example ofthe distributors and build new businesses through the disruption.
