More than 5,000 of the country’s premier Choice Hotels deploy Ingenico Group’s iSC Touch 480 smart terminals for a secure guest experience

Atlanta, Ga. – March 6, 2018 – Ingenico Group (Euronext: FR0000125346 – ING), the global leader in seamless payment, today announced that Choice Hotels, one of the world’s largest hotel companies, has chosen to deploy Ingenico Group’s iSC Touch 480 smart terminals across its 5,000-plus franchised hotels in the United States. Choice Hotels’ brands include Cambria Hotels, the Ascend Hotel Collection, Comfort Inn and Comfort Suites, Quality Inn and Sleep Inn, among others.

Security was the driving force behind Choice Hotels’ decision to partner with Ingenico Group, as the company’s iSC Touch 480 smart terminals meet the highest hardware and software security requirements, and are PCI PTS 4.x certified. Additionally, to help ensure guests’ information remains protected, the iSC Touch 480 terminals allow Choice Hotels to support point-to-point encryption (P2PE) solutions, tokenization and EMV as part of its multi-layered security approach to reduce PCI compliance, as well as an optional PIN shield for enhanced security.

“We want guests to have the most comfortable hotel experience possible – and that cannot be achieved without the peace of mind afforded by knowing their payment and transactional data is safe and secure,” said Jason Stead, vice president of enterprise security at Choice Hotels. “Reinventing our checkout experience with Ingenico Group’s smart terminals allows us to meet the highest security standards, while also ensuring guests can pay for their stay using the method that best suits their needs.”

To enable the most efficient and seamless checkout experience for guests, Choice Hotels is also able to accept all forms of payment, including EMV chip & pin, EMV chip & sign, magstripe as well as new and emerging payment types such as NFC/contactless. In addition, the iSC Touch 480 has an extra-large touch screen that provides high quality, durable signature capture for electronic payments, as well as for additional services and business applications, including waivers, receipt storage and loyalty programs.

“We’re excited to partner with Choice Hotels to bring a new, enhanced experience to its hotels’ guests across the United States, which further strengthens our position as an industry leader in hotel and lodging payment solutions,” said Scott Tubbs, chief revenue officer for Ingenico Group, US. “By leveraging a multi-layered security strategy, Choice Hotels is proactively insuring that their guests’ payment data is secure, while also reducing their franchised hotels’ PCI compliance scope.”
