Moneygram Partner Facebook’s Payments Platform PicomoPay

Boomerang, a company that started as a social travel site and moved into a social network gifting company, has added another facet to its business with the launch of a platform that helps online publishers reward site visitors for page views or taking online surveys.

Boomerang Rewards is designed to help online publishers better engage and monetize their users through free gift card rewards. Unlike traditional loyalty programs that require an upfront investment, Boomerang Rewards allows brands to give their customers promotional gift cards from top online brands (free of charge) and earn revenue per redemption.

The company joins a host of others, such as Gyft, Wrapp, and eGifter that are giving merchants and others the chance to drive incremental shopping by pushing a prepaid card directly to potential customers. By integrating with social media, target marketing can go beyond simple demographic targeting to psychographic targeting, and the advertisement has moved from a message to a call to action carrying value. The question is whether or not this method can reach saturation in the minds of consumers.
