RANCHO CUCAMONGA, California – Nusenda Credit Union has reached an agreement to greatly expand its partnership with CO-OP Financial Services for improved operational efficiencies, to be first-to-market with new payments technology and enhance fraud fighting capabilities.

Nusenda Credit Union (www.nusenda.org) of Albuquerque, New Mexico, is a 190,000-member institution with $2.1 billion in assets under its management. The credit union is adding CO-OP Full-Service Credit and CO-OP Signature Debit to process cardholder transactions. Nusenda is already a client of CO-OP PIN Debit processing, as well as a participating institution within the CO-OP ATM and CO-OP Shared Branch networks.

“The increasing complexity of the payments industry, which directly affects our service to cardholders and our own operations, is a key reason we selected CO-OP as our financial technology provider for full-service credit and signature debit,” said Terry Laudick, President/CEO of Nusenda. “We have now consolidated our card transaction processing capabilities, eliminating inefficiencies and technical limitations with a split-processing debit environment and having to maintain and train for separate debit and credit card systems.”

“Working with CO-OP also gives us access to a range of smoothly integrated, advanced payments technology, and an ability to be first to market with new services via CO-OP’s suite of application protocol interfaces (API),” said Laudick. “In addition, it was absolutely critical to our decision to have access to state of the art fraud analytics, which CO-OP is rolling out this year via the COOPER.”

CO-OP’s Unified Member Experience

CO-OP’s ecosystem is designed to easily provide a full suite of member payment services to its client credit unions, offering products that allow members to manage money and access; move money, quickly; obtain service, whenever, wherever they want it; earn rewards that are meaningful to them; and protect their transactions securely. Service delivery is via member engagement channels of credit and debit processing, digital, ATM and shared branch networks and call center support.

“With a focus on being member-centric, CO-OP enables credit unions to meet consumer demands for seamless and secure user experiences across all payment forms and channels,” said Matt Kardell, Chief Revenue Officer for CO-OP. “We share Nusenda’s commitment to a digitally transformed user experience by providing technologically advanced payments solutions that are easy to use, with advanced fraud protections.”
