TACOMA, Wash., Aug. 13, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — O Bee Credit Union is introducing a unique pub-style banking experience to Pierce County. A leader in providing innovative financial solutions for more than 60 years, O Bee announced today the opening of their newest “Brewhouse” branch in the waterfront community of Point Ruston in Tacoma, WA. O Bee continues to change the banking experience in ways that surprise and delight.

O Bee’s rich history as the original credit union of the Olympia Brewery is celebrated in the design of the branch. Local brewery beer taps and brass railings are featured along the teller line. Wood hop barrels, towering brick walls, hand painted murals and historical brewery images complete the décor along with a chalkboard menu with “specials.” “It’s exciting,” said James Collins, CEO. “We look forward to bringing our unique brand of banking to Pierce County. The word is spreading; we’re one of the best credit unions in the state,” he added.

Forbes Magazine recently named O Bee one of the Best Credit Unions in Washington State on its list of “America’s Best-In-State Credit Unions.” O Bee was one of only five credit unions in the state to be recognized by Forbes. The ranking was based on overall recommendations and satisfaction as well as five subdivisions including trust, terms and conditions, branch services, digital services and financial advice.

The pub style atmosphere is reminiscent of the old brewery tasting room where the community met to socialize, and workers gathered after the end of a shift. O Bee further honors its brewing history by supporting local craft breweries and is a proud member of the Washington Brewers Guild. “Banks shouldn’t feel cold or impersonal and having a brick and mortar establishment is important to our membership, so we decided to have some fun with the design — with a nod towards our roots in the brewing industry,” added Collins.

Experience Pub Style Banking yourself at their grand opening celebration on Saturday, August 25th from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The celebration will be held at the branch, located at: 5062 Main Street, Tacoma, WA 98407.
