Mobile point of sale (mPOS) solution developer Leaf has developed a product for Quick Service Restaurants (QSRs) named Leaf for Quick Serve. Leaf’s solution already included features such as check splitting, kitchen notes and text-based receipts; Leaf for Quick Serve adds support for take-out and delivery, the ability to clock in and out, and the option to designate a default tip rate.

From the company’s press release:

“The growth of the quick service market continues to outpace the rest of the industry, and these restaurants have a unique set of drivers that will determine their success,” said Aron Schwarzkopf, CEO of Leaf. “At a bare minimum, they must be fast, efficient, inspire loyalty and be able to adapt at a moment’s notice. Leaf for Quick Serve enables restaurateurs to cost-effectively make strides in all of these areas directly from the point of sale. We give them a radically simple way to make informed decisions that guide their business and engage their customers.”

This is the latest example of the continued expansion of the mPOS merchant base. Mobile POS was originally a platform for micro-merchants, those unable to afford traditional payment card acceptance. Since then, mobile-based solutions have been developed for many different types of businesses, including full service restaurants, tier one department stores, and retailers. Leaf’s solution for QSRs adds one more vertical to that list.

The versatility of the mobile platform is unprecedented. As a result, increasingly more merchants can be expected to integrate the technology into their POS systems.
