Ariba continues to deliver positive news. Thursday’s report of second quarter results for the quarter ended March 31 showed significant growth in both subscription revenue and network revenues, up 32% and 59% respectively over the same quarter last year. In addition, the firm was profitable for both the three-month and six month periods. From the company release:

“As evidenced by our strong quarterly results, Ariba continues to perform at a high level,” said Bob Calderoni, Chairman and CEO, Ariba. “We are executing our strategy, bringing to market new innovations and strategic partnerships that will make it even easier for buyers and sellers to connect and collaborate more efficiently. The combination of these factors is strengthening Ariba’s position as the leader of the Networked Enterprise.”

Ariba continues to battle to increase market share in the burgeoning market for B2B commerce (including online sourcing, and online procurement). It has announced plans for a new release of its “collaborative commerce” platform in the summer of 2012, with enhancements to make both the online buying experience and online selling experience more akin to the user-friendliness of consumer ecommerce sites.
