AvidXchange is expanding its executive leadership team as the fintech company looks to accelerate growth in accounts payable and payment automation for midsize businesses. The company has appointed Dan Drees as its first Chief Growth Officer, giving him responsibility for the strategic direction and leadership of AvidXchange’s global go-to-market organization.

Drees brings more than 25 years of fintech and financial services experience to the newly created role. His background includes leadership positions involving growth, fraud, risk, process automation, and data analytics at companies including Fiserv, GE, Bank of America, Ally, and Capital One.

AvidXchange™, a leading fintech provider of accounts payable and payment automation for midsize companies, is pleased to announce that Dan Drees has joined the company as Chief Growth Officer, a new role created to facilitate ambitious and exciting growth. The Chief Growth Officer will have direct responsibility for the strategic direction, leadership and mentorship of the go-to-market organization on a worldwide basis.

“The current team has done a fabulous job of expanding the business quickly over the last three years. With Dan’s proven success in scaling revenue streams of growth-stage businesses, he is uniquely qualified to drive AvidXchange to greater heights and realize untapped synergies. Dan will create an overall growth vision to maximize the collective product, marketing, and sales teams’ efforts,” stated Michael Praeger, co-founder and CEO of AvidXchange. “We are thrilled to have such a dynamic executive join our team, one who not only has the intellectual horsepower to strategically build innovative go-to-market models, but also the tactical ability to execute.”

Dan is a senior fintech executive with more than 25 years of helping teams at Fortune 500 companies and financial institutions, such as GE, Bank of America, Ally and Capital One, generate next-level growth. Most recently, Dan led the fraud and risk solutions business at Fiserv where he focused on enabling financial institutions and their clients to reduce the cost and complexity associated with fraud and compliance through process automation and the use of next-generation data analytics.

The appointment of Dan Drees as Chief Growth Officer reflects AvidXchange’s plans to build on its recent expansion and pursue its next stage of growth. By bringing product, marketing, and sales efforts under a broader growth strategy, the company aims to identify new opportunities while strengthening execution across its go-to-market organization.

Drees’ experience scaling businesses and working with financial technology provides AvidXchange with additional expertise as demand for accounts payable and payment automation continues to develop. His background in process automation and data analytics also complements the company’s focus on helping midsize businesses modernize financial operations.

As AvidXchange continues to expand, the new leadership position is intended to provide a unified growth vision and help the company capitalize on opportunities across its markets.
