Biometric Authentication for Payments Continues to Develop as Firms Implement Solutions around the World

Veritran integrated FaceTec technology to authenticate payments through biometrics.

Veritran, headquartered in Argentina with offices around north and South America is a low-code digital transformation firm, offering payments as a solution. The firm recently partnered with FaceTec, a company creating 3D liveness, ocr and 3d authentication software to bring biometric authentication for payments.

From BiometricUpdate.com:

“Veritran is integrating FaceTec’s biometric technology into its security suite to add a new layer of protection for the millions of transactions carried out daily on its platform. Veritran clients can use 3D face biometrics for remote onboarding, logins, and authentication for payments and transfers.”

Mercator notes the rising use of biometric authentication for payments as an important trend for the payment industry.

For historical data, forecast, and analysis (2013–2024) of consumer use of biometric authentication methods (facial recognition, voice recognition, fingerprint) in total and by smartphone brand, based on Mercator Advisory Groups annual survey of 3000 U.S. adults, navigate to: Biometrics: Driven by Standardized Authentication, Adopted by Consumers.
