Blackhawk Network Appoints David Tate to Senior Vice President, U.S. Retail

PLEASANTON,Calif. –Blackhawk Network, a pioneer of prepaid gift cards, payment tools andrewards delivered via a robust and convenient network, today announced that David Tate has been appointed to senior vice president of Blackhawk’sU.S. retail business. He will report toBlackhawk’s CEO and president, Talbott Roche.

Tate joinedBlackhawk in 2001, and most recently served as senior vice president, productsand marketing. During this time, he helped lead Blackhawk’s core gift, openloop gift, telecom, GPR, digital, and emerging payments divisions, as well asall business development and marketing functions. Among other keyaccomplishments, he led the team responsible for more than 700 content partnerrelationships and spearheaded the launch of Blackhawk-owned content.

“Focusing our U.S.retail business under one strategic leader will allow us to drive sales andproduct innovation among all channels and partners,” said Roche. “David hasbeen a key contributor in growing Blackhawk’s physical and digital business for15 years. His deep industry experience, visionary leadership, and boundlessenergy and enthusiasm for growth and innovation will be invaluable to Blackhawkand our partners.”

In his expandedrole, Tate will be responsible for U.S. retail and digital sales, accountmanagement and merchandising, in addition to his previous areas ofresponsibilities in new product development, including digital and marketing.He will focus on efficient growth in Blackhawk’s business in both existing andnew accounts, and work on deployment of new products and cross selling ofservices into Blackhawk’s established retail base.
