Searching for quarters under your car’s floor mats will become a thing of the past if this “app”-based model is successful. CallToPay, the consumer-facing side of Imprezzio’s OmniPark management system, now has an app for customers to download to their iPhone. In cities where the OmniPark management system is in place (today only in Washington and Oregon states) the consumer, after she’s registered and entered her payment data, simply enters the license plate number and location of the parking spot into the app. She can even add time later if necessary. An Android app is promised in the coming weeks as well.

From the cheerful press release:

Imagine not having to stand in the rain or snow to pay for parking at the meter. This free application actually makes it fun to pay for parking. While it is not “Angry Birds,” it will make your parking experience much easier. Simply click through a few easy steps and you’re on your way. The app is so cool; there is even a button or reminder that allows you to extend your parking session remotely. You do not have to run down to the meter to get that extra 15 minutes paid for.

If the operator where you park most often doesn’t currently have CallToPark, you can click on the Send Request button and they will be notified that you are looking for an easier parking alternative or you can use the Map utility and it will show you where the nearest CallToPark location is and what the rates are.
