Newport Beach, CA (June 13, 2016) – Cause Mobile Wallet, the charitable mobile wallet solution that creates sustainable funding for worthy causes, today announced the appointment of Eric Choi as president. Choi brings over 25 years of experience in the finance industry at firms such as Jeffries and Co. and McDonald Investments. Most recently, he was co-head of equities at CRT Capital. Choi is also the chairman of the board of directors at Cause Mobile Wallet and will continue to serve in that capacity.

As president, Choi will oversee marketing strategy, business development, products and services. Choi will also lead the launch of Cause Mobile Wallet’s newest payment capability, “Scan-the-Brand”. The feature will allow consumers to make instant purchases from their phones simply by scanning the logo of their favorite brands. More details about Scan-the-Brand will be announced in the coming weeks.

“We’re elated to have Eric on board as our new president,” said Brad Barton, CEO of Cause Mobile Wallet. “His passion, experience and leadership make him uniquely qualified to start the next chapter at Cause Mobile as we continue to grow.”

The Cause Mobile Wallet app allows users to send and receive funds from anyone and make purchases using their smartphones. A percentage of every transaction is donated to the charity of their choice. Users can also set up crowdfunding campaigns with the Create a Campaign feature, which allows them to crowdfund contributions with just a click of a button.

“I’m excited and honored to lead our Cause Mobile team,” said Choi. “As a longstanding board member for the Cause organization, I’m looking forward to this new chapter as president and broadening the services and features of Cause Mobile Payments. We’ll continue to offer a secure, free mobile payment system for users while expanding our partnerships with merchants and charities. The more people we can reach, the bigger our impact on organizations that need it most.”

To get started sending and receiving instant payments, download the Cause Mobile Wallet app in the iTunes App Store, or look for the Google Play version available in late June. For more information about Cause Mobile Wallet, visit www.causemobilewallet.com or email [email protected].
