Citibank has taken another step forward in delivering mobile services to commercial banking customers; its CitiManager commercial banking portal has just been extended with a mobile-optimized site offering commercial cardholders mobile access to their card accounts.

According to Manish Kohli, global head of Citi Commercial Cards:

“CitiManager Mobile provides our cardholders with an intuitive tool for on-the-go business professionals whose office may be the train, airport or anywhere else in the world. We aim to be wherever our clients need us most, whether that’s on their desktop or on their mobile phone.”

Naveed Sultan, Citi’s Global Head of Treasury and Trade Solutions, expanded on the capabilities of the mobile-optimized site:

“Because it is available to cardholders in over 20 languages in over 50 countries, CitiManager Mobile sets us apart from our competitors and allows our cardholders to continue experiencing an offering that is truly global.”

Citi’s direction is consistent with Mercator Advisory Group’s view of the needs of business travelers, as summarized in the May 2013 report entitled “Enhancing T&E Card Programs: Analysis of Commercial Cards User Survey 2012.” Among its other findings, survey results indicated that business travelers very much valued the ability to use mobile devices while traveling to complete various tasks associated with their cards and their expense reconciliation.
