Citibank has long differentiated its commercial card business with the widespread availability of a custom, proprietary card management platform. The single interface vastly simplifies global data consolidation and user training for multinational firms, and Citi expanded that capability last week with the addition of Turkey. Citi’s commercial cards had been available in Turkey in the past, but the technology platform was different from that available elsewhere.

According to Steve Robson, EMEA head of wholesale cards within Citi’s Treasury and Trade Solutions business:

“Clients are looking to Citi more than ever to help drive efficiencies and standardisation. Our ever increasing regional and global footprint means we are able to provide a market leading, consistent offering across more than 100 countries throughout the world.”

Citi is a leader in multinational commercial card programs, including local currency issuance in 65 countries. Its uniform IT platform serves over 500 multinational firms, most of which use it for travel and entertainment card programs. The consistency of the data formatting within the single application helps firms to increase efficiency in expense management and reconciliation, and to achieve greater global visibility into overall card-based spending.
