Lumin Digital – a PSCU company – announced today that Consumers Credit Union (Kalamazoo, Mich.) has signed a multi-year agreement for Lumin Digital’s cloud-based platform as its digital banking solution for both retail and business banking for desktop and mobile. Consumers is the first credit union to partner with Lumin Digital, which announced its new platform in April 2018.

“Lumin Digital will provide us with a nimble digital platform and the ability to quickly implement new functionality for members by using micro-service technology,” said Kit Snyder, President and CEO of Consumers. “We chose Lumin Digital as our digital banking provider after building a trusted relationship with key individuals at the company, who all have tremendous experience in the space. Additionally, we saw this partnership as an opportunity to leap forward in the industry, given Lumin Digital’s technology is on par with companies like Amazon, Google and Netflix.”

Founded in 1951, the $1.1 billion credit union is guided by its mission of making a positive difference in the lives of its 93,000 members through extraordinary service, education and exceptional products that make it easy for members to choose how and when they want to bank.

Because of its culture based on collaboration and innovation, Consumers believes its willingness to invest in new technologies, like digital banking, has aided its steady average growth of more than 18 percent for each of 35 consecutive years.

“Consumers is one of the fastest growing credit unions in the U.S. and known as a leader in the industry. The organization’s focus on technology and great service makes it an ideal fit for Lumin Digital,” said Jeff Chambers, President of Lumin Digital. “The credit union hires smart, ambitious, idea-oriented talent who recognize that a critical element to bringing new ideas to life – and growing business – is the need for underlying technology to support digital engagement.”

As a cloud-based digital banking platform built using market-leading technology, Lumin Digital provides members of PSCU Owner credit unions with a tightly integrated and customized experience that rivals the offerings available from the big banks. In creating a truly personalized journey, Lumin Digital delivers credit unions enlightened engagement, increased value and deepened relationships, all at secure speed with minimal risk.

“Providing an unparalleled member experience is paramount in everything we do as a part of the PSCU family,” added Chambers. “We are proud to partner with Consumers and celebrate the opportunity to contribute to the credit union’s growth strategy.”

The formation of Lumin Digital was announced at PSCU’s annual Member Forum in April 2018. As a PSCU company, Lumin Digital’s offering provides seamless access to a wide array of PSCU platforms and services, including card services, data analytics and contact center support.
