Countryside Federal Credit Union Partners with TMG Financial Services to Launch New Credit Card Program

(Des Moines, Iowa –May 24, 2017) – Countryside Federal Credit Union announced it has partneredwith top-63 credit card issuer TMG Financial Services (TMGFS) to roll out abrand new credit card program for members of the $153 million New Yorkcooperative. The partnership will allow Countryside to provide their membersmore value without taking staff away from other key products and strategic initiatives.


“Our mission is to provide members of modest means a place to save and borrowat competitive rates,” said Ben Gasser, president and CEO of Countryside. “Thecredit card program we are launching will very closely resemble the rest of ourproduct suite. Importantly, cardmembers will be serviced in the manner and inthe channels they prefer.”

By partnering with TMGFS, Countryside’s 18-person staff will offer members acompetitive credit card product designed and managed by people who understandand value credit union principles. It’s a core competency that TMGFS, a creditunion service organization (CUSO), has honed over nearly 10 years in business.

Countryside’s strategic direction for its credit card program aims to earntop-of-wallet positioning with existing and future members. “Building andpromoting a successful credit card program in today’s highly regulated andintensely competitive environment requires a partner with the technicalknow-how and the people-first mindset,” said Gasser. “TMGFS has each of thesecapabilities, as well as a futurist outlook that is constantly scanning fortrends and applying them to payments products. We are confident this lens,accompanied by the high-touch staff training TMGFS provides, will help ouremployees provide an outstanding cardmember experience for Countrysidemembers.”

TMGFS is owned by the Iowa Credit Union League and was not impacted by therecent sale of its former sister company, TMG, to CO-OP Financial Services.
