The fall conference season is in full swing, and it promises to offer insight on a wide variety of topics.Mercator Advisory Group analysts will attend and present at the BAIRetail Delivery Conference Oct. 9-11 in Washington, D.C., and theATM, Debit & Prepaid Forum Oct. 22-25 in Phoenix, as well asother events over the coming months.

These are exciting and challenging times for banks and otherfinancial institutions. While conducting research for severalrecent reports, it’s clear financial institutions have increasedtheir emphasis on cross-channel and multi-channel collaboration, with many reaping significant benefits in the process. Financialinstitutions are able to reach out to and engage with customers andmembers in multiple ways and enabling access to accounts when, where, and how desired.

Our research continues to show the importance of banking channels(branch, ATM, online, mobile, and call/contact centers) and thepositive influence these channels can have on the relationshipbetween customers, members, and financial institutions. Some of themore exciting and promising ideas include integration between andamong the channels, and moving beyond the concept of individualchannels as being silos of information.

During these conference events, we look forward in taking part inthe exchange of ideas in a wide variety of topic areas, as well aslearning about and assessing new products and technologies on thehorizon.

Finally, if you are attending BAI, I welcome you to attend our”Evolution of Multichannel Banking: Integrating and PersonalizingChannels to Deepen Customer Relationships” session on Wednesdayafternoon, Oct. 8th. We’d love to discuss this topic with you inperson.
