Six test centersnow support terminal and mPOS manufacturers globally with EMVCo Level 1 testing

April24, 2017 – FIME today announces that, with the addition offour new accreditations, six of its laboratories around the world are approvedby EMVCo to perform Level 1 tests according to EMV® Type Approval –Contactless Terminal Level 1 version 2.6b on contactless payment terminals andmobile point of sale (mPOS) devices. These laboratories, situated in Canada,Japan, Korea and the U.S. join FIME’s French and Taiwanese laboratories tobecome the largest global network of EMVCo accredited test centers, offeringFIME customers unrivaled test capacity.

Thesesix test laboratories are accredited to perform Level 1 proximity couplingdevice (PCD) analog and digital testing as part of the formal approval processfor contactless terminal and mPOS manufacturers’ products. This processconfirms that the communication between the terminal and a contactless card, ornear field communication (NFC)-enabled smartphone, is in line with EMVCo’s EMVSpecification requirements.
