Offers Discover Zip & D-PAS functional testing to regional and international terminal and chip manufacturers

January 25, 2016 – FIME’s testing laboratory in Taipei, Taiwan has been accredited by Discover® to support EMV and contactless terminal and chip manufacturers in achieving Discover’s product certification. FIME Asia is now accredited for both the D-Payment Application Specification (D-PAS) and Discover Network Zip Payment Specification.

Following in the footsteps of FIME’s laboratories in America and EMEA, this accreditation significantly expands FIME’s Discover testing capacity, offering local certification services to chip and terminal manufacturers. FIME’s team of experts is on hand to support projects, ensuring products achieve certification successfully and efficiently.

“Customer demand for Discover services is growing as EMV and contactless adoption continues in Asia and around the world,” comments Arnaud Peninon, Vice President – Asia Pacific and Global Laboratories at FIME. “Terminal and chip manufacturers can now use our Discover qualified test tool during their development phase, safe in the knowledge that the same tool will be used by the laboratory for formal approval. This mitigates the risk of failure at the final stage, reducing time to market.”

Discover’s network is the third largest payments network in the world and the largest merchant acceptance network in Asia-Pacific.

FIME’s Taiwanese laboratory offers a one-stop shop for chip, and terminal manufactures, enabling them to achieve product qualification against a range of international and regional payments specifications. Testing for compliance to a number of specifications in one session reduces time to market and costs.
