First Data released its estimates of May same-store payment trends, indicating that consumer spending is slowing. Year over year growth of 6.6 percent was the lowest monthly growth registered this year. While average ticket size was up 1.4 percent, it was up just 0.5 percent excluding gasoline purchases.
