“Foursquare’s goal is to help people connect in the real world, discover new places, and save money through specials,” a Foursquare spokesperson told VentureBeat via email. “We’re excited that Groupon’s daily deals and real-time deals will now be included in our platform.”
This service is similar to that offered in Groupon’s “Groupon Now” service; however there are more than 10 million Foursquare users, while Groupon Now is only available in a few cities. The collaborative service is currently live in Chicago and is expected to be available all over the U.S. and Canada by this Sunday, August 7th.
