Financial services software company Ixaris saw an opportunity in the market in 2003 and launched its EntroPay service, a virtual Visa card program for Europe. Funded by debit or credit card into a prepaid wallet, the program has been targeted to the youth market. That program’s success, especially the taste of transaction revenue, has prompted the company to shift its business model toward a payment platform model.

This announcement, of its Ixaris Opn service, expands both its capabilities and programmatic access. Ixaris has added MasterCard and SWIFT payments to its Visa base. And it has created an “open API” and set of preprogrammed capabilities called “paylets” to drive adoption and transaction volume through its payments processing service. Add Ixaris Opn to the growing number of payments platforms welcoming transaction volume through Open API arms.

Ixaris, an innovator in global electronic payments, today announced the launch of Ixaris Opn

(pronounced “open”), an application development and operating platform that enables financial institutions to tap into the growing market for open payments online and empowers developers and entrepreneurs to create payment applications for specialized market segments.
