User-controlled Payment Card Vendors Wins Another Award

Dynamics Inc. has done an exceptional job of gathering media coverage for its Card 2.0 technology over the last six months. This announcement covers its win of the Consumer Electronics (CES) Best of Innovations Winner for Personal Electronics award. It recently won the Best of Show at FinovateFall 2010.

By embedding buttons, indicator lights and a microprocessor into a standard form factor payment card, the firm gives consumers, and the issuers, a set of tools to selectively use multiple accounts on a single card as well as improve card security. Its Redemption card product is going into a pilot program with Citi this month (see quote below for descriptions of its current product packaging). Because cards are going to be with us for a decade or more, making the user interface on the card more flexible is a key part of the Dynamics value proposition. Now comes another hard part – moving from pilot phase into large scale production.
