With the recent success of coupon websites like Groupon.com, Parago has announced the release of a smart phone application that allows for consumers to browse for local rebates from the comfort of their mobile phones. Parago, a reward program orientated company, launched the GoRebate mobile app for free on both Apple’s App Store and Google’s Android Market and allows consumers to search for rebates through a number of different criteria, including by retailer, product or category. The app even allows the consumer to share their rebate findings through popular social media outlets, Facebook and Twitter as well as email and text.
“GoRebate Mobile provides access to the exponentially growing demographic of price-savvy consumers that rely on their smart phones to shop and research deals,” said Juli Spottiswood, president and CEO of Parago, Lewisville, TX. “Marketing and consumer expectations are rapidly evolving, and we are able to deliver the innovation and technology to push our clients to the forefront,” she said.
“Until now, businesses had to actively do something to market rebate promotions to the public or they had to hope that consumers would notice them in their stores,” Ms. Spottiswood said. “GoRebate offers a whole new avenue for businesses to make consumers aware of rebates and to drive store traffic and sales lift,” she said. “We believe that consumer deal finding is here to stay and marketers must respond to this demand.”
The launch of the GoRebate app comes at a favorable time, the stagnating economy has forced more and more consumers to change their spending habits and adopt more prudent methods of saving money and smart phones are quickly becoming major players in the mobile market. While the Parago app will face stiff competition from online coupon and rebate websites, it definitely has strong growth potential moving forward as the number of smart phone users continues to increase.
