US Bank reported theresults of a credit card account acquisition pilot the bank recently conductedwith the Minnesota Twins. The technologybeing tested allows fans attending a game at Target Field to apply for a USBank-issued Twins Rewards MasterCard using a new iPad application developed inpartnership with MiTek. With the app, consumers can use an iPad’s camera tocapture and submit personal info contained on their driver’s license.
Approved applications increased 50% during the pilot, according to US Bank.
The technology simplifies the application process, whichmakes applying more enticing for fans at a game, and also reduces the errorrate compared to paper-based applications.
From Mobile Commerce Daily:
“If you are at a Twins game, see anoffer for a Twins MasterCard and you want to apply, we can enroll that fanusing the camera on an iPad for the data entry instead of keying in informationor filling out forms at the ball park.
“It’s easier, faster, more accurateand more reliable,” he said. “The technology improves an applicant’s experienceby eliminating the need to write or type in much of the required informationand allows them to quickly get back to enjoying the event.”
